Thomas Wolfe once wrote that “you can’t go home again.” Hmm… well, we just went home over Christmas and while there we hooked up with our friends at Carolina Bauernhaus for a wintery collaboration.
Our idea was to build a winter warmer, despite the fact that as we write this post on December 30th, it’s 80 friggin’ degrees outside. So to warm you up we added locally sourced jalapeños from both the Upstate and Lowcountry to a native yeast fermented Gose.
Joey and Michael are both from Walhalla, South Carolina and Steve moved there when he was 19. That’s where the three met. Carolina Bauernhaus is just around the corner in Anderson. To honor our home of Walhalla, we named this spicy beer Walhallpeño. At 4.2% ABV, it’s a low alcohol beer that can warm you up all winter long.
We love working with Carolina Bauernhaus and we’re excited to bring some of their awesomeness to Charleston with this collaboration.
