Our very own Joey Siconolfi spent two full days (last weekend) biking to every brewery in the Charleston area! Is he crazy? Possibly. Is he sore? Definitely. Is he an awesome advocate for fitness and local craft brewers? No question about it!
Joey and Chris Winn (from Tradesman Brewing Co) biked from Summerville to Johns Island. They managed to visit a total of 17 breweries and bike a grand total of 93 miles. Check out their journey:
Oak Road – First stop! From there, a ride down Lincolnville Rd. and then on to Palmetto Commerce Parkway to get to Ashley Phosphate
Snafu – Quick beer and bike around inside the brewery
Cannonborough Beverage Company – A quick hop over to see our favorite “soda jerks” (that’s what they used to called them ?)
Frothy Beard – Murphy ran out to greet us!
Holy City – Long ride down Dorchester! Ate lunch and played the official sport of Holy City “Sasketball”
Freehouse – Quick ride from HCB for a beautiful view of the river
Coast – Last hard ride of Day 1, got here using Azalea, Cosgrove, and Spruill
Cooper River – Finally made it downtown! Played some Ping Pong
Edmund’s Oast – Burger, fries, and a PBJ beer! Dinner for Day 1
Revelry – Finale for Day 1! Beers with friends on the rooftop
Rode over the Ravenel to sleep in Mt. P for Day 2.
Ghost Monkey – Starts off Day 2
Two Blokes – Quick ride for my first visit
Westbrook – Another quick ride…gearing up for the long ride back downtown
Palmetto – Toughest ride of the trip. Riding down Coleman Blvd frontage road into a headwind. The ride down the Ravenel back into downtown was rewarding. Had tacos and espresso porter to help fuel us to the last three! Sean Geddis from Two Blokes joined us for a bit here
Charlestowne Fermentory – Quick stop into the newest brewery in Charleston and our future West Ashley neighbors
Tradesman – Was able to use a bit of the West Ashley Greenway and then up and over the Maybank draw bridge (sketchy)
Low Tide – Final ride! Coming over the bridge and onto Johns Island while the sun was setting was the highlight of the trip
Total Miles: 93
Impressive, Joey! Here’s to you! ?
