I’m sitting on the deck of Kudu Coffee and Craft Beer. With the sound of the fountain in the background, I’m typing away at my computer, handling the daily grind of work. It’s 75 degrees and, for the first time in months, I had to  move into the shade because it’s too hot. It’s nice to see sweat without my heart elevated by exercise. I missed it.

I just finished my coffee. I went back inside to find something to quench my thirst. Sure, there’s water and amazing Cannonborough soda (damn that stuff is good). But it’s Tuesday at 1:00 pm. It’s time for a beer.

This is Kudu. Their selection is one of the best in all of Charleston. But they don’t have what I really want, what I need. What my mouth, what my soul craves this very second as sweat drips down my grey shirt.  What I need is the perfect strawberry beer, one that can only be found at Frothy Beard Brewing. I’m packing up the computer and heading for Ashley Phosphate. Frothy’s Strawberry Blonde is on tap right now.

This is one of the most popular beers we make. It’s so damn good that we haven’t found a name that does justice to its absolute perfection. Seriously—perfection. I don’t use that word often, but I don’t know how else to describe a beer so refreshingly balls-to-the-wall amazing.

We add locally sourced strawberries to our American Blonde, sitting at 5.2% ABV. The rosy pink beer on tap right now uses strawberries from Shuler Farms that we got from our friends at GrowFood Carolina.  We do what we can to support our local farmers.

Sure, it looks like white zinfandel, but this is all badass Southern beer. You should probably show up at Frothy today.
