The Brewster series is a really great idea all the way around. For starters, it encourages women to get involved with craft brewing. Then we end up with new great beers to try and enjoy. Next, part of the proceeds from the sale of Brewster series beers goes to a charity. Not bad!
Macey has outdone herself with a brew made using carrots. She calls it 18 Carrot Gold. It’s an IPA that is 6.5% ABV. Macey: “The Australian Hops add a tropical fruit characteristic to the bitterness, which is rounded out by a subtle sweetness from the carrots. It has a beautiful golden orange hue.”
Will it improve your eyesight like carrots are supposed to? Not sure. Will we all turn into bunnies? Don’t know! We do know this—it’s a really, really tasty beer. Perfect for the holidays.
The charity this year is One80Place—a great organization offering food, shelter and hope to the homeless. Their name suggests the goal—helping their clients make a 180-degree turn and change their lives. Specifically, $1 from each pint sold goes to One80Place’s Family Place—a shelter for women and children. More info here.
So if you do “carrot” all, come to Frothy and ask for a delicious 18 Carrot Gold. And toast everyone who has taken part in the Brewster series.
